In 2022, the SETA team welcomed a dynamic addition to its coaching roster with the arrival of Tommy Cunningham. Hailing from England, Tommy brings a wealth of experience and a passion for tennis that transcends the court.
Having spent the past couple of years coaching at one of the top performance academies in the UK, Tommy honed his expertise, specializing in ages ranging from 5 to 14 years. His leadership as the 10U county captain in Surrey for over a year underscores his profound understanding of the developmental nuances within the 10U performance game—an asset for our Hot Shot players.
Tommy’s coaching philosophy is rooted in a fervent desire to guide his players to their next level of excellence, tailored to their unique aspirations. Whether it’s preparing a beginner adult for a club match or nurturing a junior through the rankings, Tommy is driven by a commitment to each player’s individual journey.
Embodying the mantra that ‘winners find a way, losers find excuses,’ Tommy instils a winning mindset in his players. However, preceding this, he firmly believes that, as coaches, their responsibility extends beyond the court.
